Many people don’t appreciate the Engineering in Reverse Engineering. We have Reverse Engineered items from Golf Balls to Military Hitches to Turbines. Our understanding of manufacturing methods and CAD tools gives us an edge in providing our customers CAD data that is ready to use. Many competitive services provide point data or non-mathematical surface files. These look neat but are not of much use to most engineers. Or CAD files are “clean” models that can be used beyond just generating a tool path. The Impeller to the left was digitized & modeled in 3D. Then cut on a 5-axis mill and inspected. The result was a product that exceeded the customer’s requirements and replaced a 2D drawing and a manufacturing process that was 30 years old. Other projects have included providing CNC tool path data ready to use and scaled digitization of scaled models used for verifying very large patterns.
